At times Lertap may report that it "cannot find any Sub worksheets to run with".
This message usually results after the "Elmillon item analysis" option has been selected from Lertap's Run menu.
Sub worksheets are normally created when the "Interpret CCs lines" option is taken. However, under some circumstances they will not be made.
There are times when users will have a CCs worksheet with only one card, or line: *col. This is done when users simply want to see Lertap's Freqs report to check on response frequencies. In this case, most users know that the "Elmillon item analysis" option will not work, and may realise that Sub worksheets have not been generated.
Sub worksheets may not be made if Lertap has encountered an error in the CCs lines. One error known to lead to this situation is that wherein users have omitted the "Aff" control word from the *sub card, as seen in the following example:
*col (c28-c37)
*sub title=(Comfort)
*pol +---- ++--+
In this little example, the user wanted to process affective items, but neglected to include the Aff control word. The correct CCs lines are shown below:
*col (c28-c37)
*sub aff, title=(Comfort)
*pol +---- ++--+
